Supercharging Your Hallway Design

The hallway is often overlooked when it comes to home design, but it plays a crucial role in setting the tone for your entire home. By incorporating some simple ideas and following a few tips, you can transform your hallway design into a stylish and inviting area. In this informative post, we will explore some key elements to enhance your home hallway design, using one of our latest projects as an example. Scroll down to the bottom to see the before pictures!

Steps to Supercharging

1. Adding Bespoke Hallway Traditional Panelling:
One way to elevate the aesthetic appeal of your hallway is by incorporating bespoke traditional panelling. This classic design element adds a touch of elegance and sophistication to any space. Consider installing wall panels with intricate detailing or raised mouldings to create a timeless look. Traditional panelling not only enhances the visual appeal but also provides protection to your walls from wear and tear.

2. Painting Your Bannister a Darker Colour:
To create a striking contrast and add depth to your hallway, painting your bannister a darker colour can be a game-changer. Opt for rich hues like deep navy, charcoal grey, or even black to make a bold statement. This simple yet impactful change can instantly modernise your hallway and make it visually appealing. Ensure that the colour you choose complements the overall colour scheme of your home.

3. Adding a Console Table:
A console table is a versatile piece of furniture that can serve both functional and decorative purposes in your hallway. It provides a convenient surface for displaying artwork, family photographs, or decorative items like vases and sculptures. Additionally, a console table with drawers or shelves can offer practical storage solutions for keys, mail, and other essentials. Choose a console table that complements the style of your hallway and consider adding a mirror above it to create an illusion of space.

4. Adding a mirror
A mirror is crucial to any hallway space. Typically hallways are narrow & often dark, so including a mirror and positioning it cleverly means you’ll make the space feel bigger & brighter.

5. Clever storage solutions
Whether it’s something as simple as a bespoke hallway cupboard or a wall mounted shoe rack that saves on space, hiding hallway clutter is the key to creating a calm, organised & welcoming space. In our recent project we built a bespoke cupboard with shoe rack inside, upper box storage & hanging clothes rails to hide all forms of hallway belongings..
