If you’ve learnt anything about us by now, you’ll know that we love Instagram. Any opportunity to snoop around people’s houses right? Last time we picked Instagram’s top 10 industrial decor accounts but this time we’re going for something a little different. The top 10 Instagram accounts for home renovation. Why? Because there’s nothing that inspires us more than seeing normal people with normal budgets like you and I, transform their homes into something unique and enviable. House prices aren’t getting any cheaper, so why move when you can improve? We like that motto…
The Victorian semi that nails dark and mysterious: RestoringLandsdowne
Landsdowne is Topology fave – look at that colour palette! We’ve never seen such a beautiful mix of blue, green and grey hues. This dark and mysterious home has real sass but remains homely and warm. If you have wooden floors in your home then check out Landsdowne to see how you can use colour and texture to add depth to them.
The name is enough to give it a follow: The_House_That_Jen_Built
When the name is great you already know you’re in for something good. If it’s the house that Jack built, Jen bossed the interior. She is transforming her period property into a Scandinavian beauty – and Jen’s not afraid to get her hands dirty. Check into her Insta daily and you’ll find her peeling edging tape off a wall or prepping wooden doors for painting.
Mancunians do it well: TwoUpTowDownManchester
A Topology fave! Seriously this account is proving that you don’t need heaps of space to create great interior design. The owners have transformed their self-proclaimed ‘tiny but cute’ Edwardian terrace in Manchester into a mid-century, boho abode. The house has such personality – there are plastered walls left bare, self-sanded floor boards and furniture they’ve collected from friends and charity shops over the years.
The renovation of ‘Peach Palace’ by ComeDownToTheWoods
This is definitely one of the quirkiest renovation projects we’ve seen. The name of the house (Peach Palace) couldn’t be more spot on, as this house looks like something out of a futuristic fairytale. If you’re into a bit of quirk then you must check out this neon, patterned, colourful beauty.

Confident colour inspo from FionasHomeRenovation
This gal’s just getting started but based on her first paint colour choice (deep Moss green) we know it’s going to be a beautiful, ballsy interior. And that’s what we like to see – interiors with confidence. Follow and watch this space!
Classy home renovation by LittleHarrowDeneHouse
Harrowdene House has already got quite a lot of attention on Instagram and we can see why. Their style is very much of the moment – the colours, accessories and furniture reflect the Scandi, boho and industrial themes that we consistently see from our favourite affordable homeware brands like Made.com, Swoon Editions and Amara. The home is still super classy but gives us something realistic to aspire to.
Cottage inspo from Our_wee_country_cottage
Ok so now we’re stepping away from the Victorian terraces and out into the sticks, Aberdeenshire to be precise. Expect calm colours and twee accessories – the décor is as cute as the name.
Beautiful Scandi home inspo in Newcastle Jens_pens
This is one for all the mid-century lovers! Get a load of that dark wood dining set. Jen’s pen is still relatively near the start of the renovation process but she’s already showing talent. She’s shows us how to take risks in a period property too…check out her cork wall.
They’re slowly bringing an Edwardian semi back to life: Edwardianrenovation
Last but certainly not least is this Edwardian beauty. They say they’re ‘bringing it back to life’ and boy is that true. We love their extended open plan kitchen and quirky furniture choices. Oh, and we mustn’t forget Hendricks the cat, who regularly features!
