We got in touch with the lovely founder Danielle, about the brand and what sort of stuff they have to offer. You aren’t going to want to miss this one – think feminine, scandi, affordable amazingness. We are head over heels obsessed with these guys and they’re genuinely one of our favourite brands.

What is the concept behind The Room Alive?

The Room Alive brings inspiration and solutions for stylish family living. It was born out of my passion for interiors and necessity to adapt to family life whilst maintaining style and individuality. The wallpaper collection has been created with that in mind, with unique designs for the kids and a striking versatile design in our Palm Leaf Garden range that would fit every room in the house. We also offer a collection of curated home décor accessories, mostly handmade by artisans or by other mums running their own businesses.

How would you define the brands style?

We encourage all our clients to express their individuality when decorating their homes. Whilst The Room Alive has strong Scandinavian and Bohemian influences, we aim to deliver the conversation piece that will complete our clients’ design schemes. A lot of people would love to have a pink wall in their homes for example, however only a few of them actually do it. Our designs make it possible to take that step to change and create a home you love.

What’s the design process or sourcing process behind your items?

I get my inspiration from every day life and the small things that make you feel good. In the children’s designs I use shapes and colours that will make little ones smile and interact with. Even though the UK is my home, I still keep my Brazilian/Spanish background alive and having lived in five different countries I have a lot of happy memories that inspire me. Once I am happy with the designs, it is printed in the UK using paper from sustainable sources and organic ink pigment. The home décor accessories are sourced carefully from artisans/makers that I connect with.

What are your most popular products?

The Palm Leaf Garden wallpaper in Blush is our best-seller, it adds movement and colour to a room without overwhelming it, and it works in every room in a home, from bedrooms to bathrooms, kitchen and children’s spaces.

What is your top interior design tip?

Don’t be afraid to try new things for the right reasons. It is ok to follow trends if you genuinely love the products, as you are likely to stick to it long after the trend has gone. It is also ok to take risks and make mistakes, to create a home that you love as you’ll learn from them, and most importantly you will feel incredibly fulfilled.

If you could only own one homeware item, what would it be?

I have an obsession with chairs, and I often find myself buying new chairs that I don’t need! If I could only own one item at the moment it would be a blush velvet and brass armchair and when I’m not using it I would probably be starring at it.
