Client Q&A: Isabelle’s Modern Home Renovation

Everyone, meet Isabelle who is here to tell you about her modern home renovation…

What made you decide to work with Topology?

I first worked with Topology on my rental property when I first moved to London. I happened upon them in an online search for e-design, and instantly fell in love with their aesthetic. I chose to work with them again for this project because the service I received during the e-design consult was impeccable, and they really understood my vision. I knew they would be up for the challenge on a bigger project!

Did you enjoy the Topology design process and if so, why?

The design process was so fun and seamless. I tried my best to go into this being very intentional about keeping an open mind, and I’m so glad I did. They know exactly what they’re doing and created a space that was even better than I had envisioned.
Athina & Chloe asked all the right questions, paid attention to every detail and were very in tune with the look I was going for. One of my favourite moments was being invited to Soho house to look at samples over a glass of wine – if only every step could be like that!
One of the best parts of the process was playing with the design mock-ups. That’s when you really start to see the floating ideas in your head really come to life in a cohesive way. Athina & Chloe put vision to paper better than I ever could have! It’s like they were inside my head.

What were the benefits for the on-site service of your modern home renovation?

There are so many benefits to this service. First, they tackled all of the finer details that were overwhelming me. These were the colour scheme, furniture selection and accessorising. I’m someone who can get very stuck on the small things. Topology made the decision making so stress-free and easy. All I had to do was provide some guidance and they instantly had great options to choose from.
Secondly, as someone who is new to the country and taking on a renovation alone and didn’t have the first clue about how to source any trades. They are super well connected and found quality tradesmen fast! Everyone who worked on the project was incredibly friendly and professional.

Thirdly, they do help find better rates due to their industry connections and relationships so I saved a lot with their services. Lastly, a reno can of course be very emotional and stressful. Athina & Chloe made me feel like I wasn’t alone and that I was part of a team. It really helped me get through the moments that tested me!

What is your favourite design element in your new home?

It’s so hard to choose just one. My front hall closet makes me so happy! And I absolutely love how the bar turned out. The paneling throughout the flat really gave some much needed character to the space. My favourite feature though are the colours throughout – the place feels so cosy, inviting and joyful. Exactly what I was aiming for!
