What are your most popular products?
Our copper himmeli air plant mobiles were always our most popular product, especially when we first started out with our Broadway Market stall and we could suspend them all together. There’s something about copper and green which is so pleasing, and our customers would keep coming back to buy more to give their friends.
Since it was published last November, our book ‘House of Plants’ has also become a best selling product, and has just been translated into Japanese; we’re very excited about that!

What’s the key process behind designing products for your brand?
We have always tried to design products that would inspire people’s imaginations, combining organic and manmade elements that demand a closer look. With the plants that we sell, they must be beautiful, of course, but also easy to care for. Most of our products are suited to those who perhaps don’t have much space in their home to adorn with green, but would like to bring small elements of plant life indoors to transform their living spaces without too much upkeep.

What’s the most important benefit of having plants in the home?
Particularly for those living in the city, indoor plants can serve as a gentle reminder of the natural world, helping to give a sense of calm and wellbeing. There are also more physical benefits, such as their air purifying properties; the areca palm, snake plant, spider plant and peace lily are all great choices for purifying indoor air.

Where do you find your inspiration?
Our main inspiration tends to be urban architecture or indoor spaces that have an element of greenery incorporated in quite an organic or innovative way, for example the Barbican conservatory in London or the work of the Spanish architect Ricardo Bofill. When you get the balance right between plants and interiors, and it feels effortless and a bit wild, the effect is completely captivating.
