Here at Topology HQ we know that working from home can be difficult. To many it’s idealised – oh the joy of not having to get on the train during rush hour or replying to those mid-morning emails in your pyjamas. But working from home can actually become extremely challenging after a while. Think about it logically – you don’t have to go anywhere, you don’t meet colleagues and get social interaction, there’s no need for you to leave the house or even get dressed. It can become depressing and demotivating. That’s why we’ve created a new office with the concept of wellbeing in mind. Thing lots of plants, stimulating wall decor and plenty of light sources. The Before : How The Previous Tenants Had It
The After Shots…
Filling your walls with creative objects like inspiring magazines, wall art or plants can boost concentration simply by looking at them. We’ve opted for magazine racks and peg boards around the room and filled them with different items. Avoid anything on the walls that’s stagnant or stationary in appearance (e.g. a still life photo) as this can be counterproductive as it doesn’t promote energising or uplifting thoughts. Instead opt for art work etc that represents kinetic energy (e.g. water flowing, a person dancing etc).
The blinds are from Bloc Blinds and we opted for ‘wide stripe transparent cream‘. They are absolutely wonderful and we’ve even chosen them for the bedroom too! They’re super easy to install and really well priced. We opted for transparent blinds as we still wanted a bit of light to come through but enough prvacy so people can’t see in.
