The Style Files No. 33Immerse yourself in this beautiful jungle. Oops, I mean Lilly's home!
Last week we took you on a tour of a Kelly’s stunning ranch and this week we’re continuing the USA theme and showing off the lovely Lilly’s home with this boho house tour. Her home oozes character, charm & style and we love it so much because she shows us that you don’t have to spend a fortune to create your perfect home. Scope out vintage finds, thrift store goods & pre-loved furniture bits to create a special home that reflects your style whilst keeping your wallet full. We also love her passion for indoor plants – we completely agree that adding foliage, be it a little or a lot, can instantly pick up a room – Lily has got some serious style tips to show off, so we hope you enjoy this Style Files. Like many of our house tours, these photos were taken by the lovely photographer Georgia Burns.
What was the inspiration behind your home?
The inspiration behind my home decor comes from growing up in the Caribbean. I was always mesmerized and very appreciative of the outdoor living and the colorful array of foliage as part of everyday life. Nowadays it’s an essential part of my decor choices.
What was the design process of your home?
What’s your best advice for creating a home like yours?
Be a smart shopper! Don’t design your home based on what’s “on trend” buy what YOU LOVE and take your time. If I would have had the money to go out and buy whatever I wanted when we bought our home I would have ended up with a cookie cutter look and I never would have found my style. It took time to piece the house together and I was able to do it with pieces that each have a story.
“Your home needs to provide you with happiness…there are no rules, just the right feeling”
What would be your advice to someone wanting to create a home like yours?
If you could only choose one homeware item, what would it be?
How would you define your style?
