PREDICTION 1 : SAGE
Yep, this forrest esq calming unisex colour is going to be all over the place. Perfect for both summer and winter, this neutral colour is a dream to work with due to it’s ability to work with a huge range of colours. Try mixing this with pastel pinks, creams, navies, terracottas – the list goes on as it’s incredibly versatile. If you’re doing it on the cheap, try Wilko’s paint for just £15.

PREDICTION 2 : TERRAZZO
A real throwback to the 70’s is this one, so don’t tell mum and dad or they’ll start reminiscing. This unique texture is made up of composite material – think chips of marble, granite, glass, quartz and cement. All of which combine to create an appearance like no other. Expect to see terrazzo effect home decor accessories from cushions to wallpaper but also keep an eye out for it’s appearance in bathrooms and kitchens on counter tops, flooring and even walls. PREDICTION 3 : WATERCOLOUR PRINTS
We saw some of these creep through 2017 but it can take a while for trends to full seep through to the mass market. In light of this, we think 2018 will be the year you’ll be seeing a lot more of these. From oversized wall arts filled with colours, to simple monochrome water colour effect prints, they give off a beautiful effect we think everyone will love. PREDICTION 4 : STATEMENT CEILINGS
With so many quirky interiors out there on display, there seems to be a sudden surge in peoples’ confidence. The result? Statement ceilings are in. If you like the sound of this but aren’t sure how to do it, think about <em>your </em>space. For example, do you have high ceilings and a big room? Make it cosies and more atmospheric with a dark ceiling. Or maybe you have a small room with low ceilings? Opt for a bright ceiling pattern to draw the eye upwards making it appear bigger.

PREDICTION 5 : HERRINGBONE
Herringbone has always been around – some of you may be lucky enough to have pre-existing herringbone in your homes already. But it’s going to make a huge comeback this year. Not just in the format of flooring either. Think kitchen splash backs, bathroom tiles and soft furnishing patterns. Sorry metro tile lovers!

PREDICTION 6 : WOOD EFFECT TILES
Our clients get a bit funny about wood effect tiles, thinking they could look fake or cheap. Please let us tell you that this is not the case! Wood effect tiles are amazingly realistic and affordable. Plus they’re a great way to add a wood look to a bathroom or kitchen but having the benefit of tiles – easy to mop, hygienic, water resistant etc. We love Topps Tiles range.
