The Top 10 Home Instagram Accounts For Animal Loversbecause sometimes all we want is a bit of heavy petting
Unfortunately I’m just as addicted to Instagram as you are. I have to say though, scrolling through pictures of people’s pets makes me feel less guilty than looking at selfies or pristine homes that I’ll never live in. The last time we were gabbling on about Instagram accounts to follow, it was on the best home renovation accounts, and you can check that out here. This week though we’ve picked The Top 10 Home Instagram Accounts For Animal Lovers. Yup, it’s a bit of a mouthful, but if it inspires more people on Instagram to let their animals steal the show, I’m happy. Read on to see who made it in to our exclusive pet club…
First up is Mad About The House. You probably already know about journo Kate Watson-Smyth’s venture into the interiors world and her stunning home, but you might be yet to meet Britsh Blue #enidcat who likes to hide under tables and sprawl out on the salmon pink chaise-lounge.
You know you’re going to get a load of paws in the frame when the account is named after the pets – Boo and Maddie are actually the names of Lins’ ginger cat and Springer Spaniel dog. Follow them and you’ll get to see how Lins has decorated her South East London 1930s home. Boo rules the roost while Maddie keeps a lower profile.
Caramel coloured Arthur is the perfect home accessory to contrast Hayley’s teal coloured velvet sofa, upon which he is regularly seen snoozing….also, Arthur is seriously chilled out, which goes hand in hand with Hayley’s beautifully calm interior featuring pastel colours, soft fabrics and lots and lots of light.
A Topology favourite, Cowboy Kate bends the rules when it comes to interiors (the clue is in the name). Dark, sludgy, furry, shiny, pink, orange – you name it, she’s got it in her home and it just works. And looks totally badass. Look closely and you’ll spot Frank the dog who Kate nicknames ‘the little black bear’. He’s absolutely adorable.
Another account, another cat, we hear you say. Well, not Doug. He’s not any old cat – take one look at this account and you’ll fall in love, because this British Shorthair is insanely cute and cheeky. Just look at that little face! Doug matches Louise’s Scandi monochrome interior down to a tee. #allgreyeverything, as she likes to say.
Pictures of this quirky home in surrey feature the dinky little Chihuahua Pedro perching himself everywhere from the kitchen counter to the toilet seat (let’s just hope he cleans his feet…). Pedro’s so tiny that it’s often a bit of a where’s Wally situation – unless he’s in front of one of those gorgeous dark walls that complements his gold fur.
What came first, the pet or the interior? If there’s one thing we can learn from this blog it’s that more often than not these instafamous pets are like an extension of the interior design. Oliv.Home is the archetypal hygge interior, complete with slouchy sofa, Scandi wood fittings and mugs of warm coffee. With his fluffy white hair and teddy bear appearance, his dog Kizi Mizi is the ideal companion.
Another Topology favourite, we had to put Swoonworthy Kimberly and her beautiful cat Meisha on our list. Here you can see Meisha lounging around Kimberly’s bedroom (which we previously featured – you can check it out here). Meisha’s feline markings are just as bold as Kimberly’s interior – follow this account and you’ll see how to use leopard print pattern in the bedroom, dining room and living room.
Lastly we come to Holly’s black and white home featuring black and white bulldog Remi. Follow Holly for a daily dose of inspiration as we see her transform her new house into a contemporary home design. Oh, and you’ll get to see this little fella peeping around corners too!
