THIS WEEK WE TALK BOLD COLOURS. NEUTRAL LOVERS, LOOK AWAY NOW.
TIP 1 FOR USING COLOUR IN YOUR HOME
Slyly slip them in with neutral colours. Instead of letting bold colours take over the room, mix them in with neutral colours. For example, if you want to keep the room calm, try using a neutral palette of greys or creams and use a pop of colour like red or pink to brighten up the space. TIP 2 FOR USING COLOUR IN YOUR HOME
Use either a duo or trio of colours per room, this will create your foundation for your scheme. E.g. Aqua & Orange. Don’t add more than this otherwise the room can look overbearing and cramped and not well designed. You can however mix this trio in with neutral and a hint of black to make it flow. WHATS YOUR BEST PIECE OF ADVICE OF USING STRONG COLOURS IN YOUR HOME?
I believe that with bold colour you generally have two options; you can add a few accessories in bold colours or you can go all out and paint/paper your walls in them. My personal advice is do what makes you happy and will have the most positive impact on your daily life. After all, you spend a lot of time in your home so you need to feel relaxed and inspired in equal measure. Don’t be bound by trends and don’t let anyone put you off painting the inside of your whole house green, or any shade of the rainbow for that matter, if you know it will make you smile every day.
WHAT’S THE INSPIRATION BEHIND YOUR PRODUCTS?
The inspiration for Season Two came from a winter trip to Marrakech. It had been on my list of places to visit for a while and when I arrived I couldn’t believe it had taken me so long to visit.
WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE COLOUR?
I’ve always loved a strong emerald green against black and brass. I decorated my Christmas tree in this combination last year and it looked so opulent. I’m currently lusting after a beautiful emerald green velvet sofa which would look perfect against black walls. I also love cobalt blue and can never decide between the two! I have such a new found respect for cobalt blue since my visit to Le Jardin Majorelle in Marrakech. The thing I love about it is that you can pair it with almost any colour group and it always looks current.

WHAT WOULD BE YOUR RECOMMENDED COLOUR FOR CREATING A SPRING / SUMMER INTERIOR?
Blush Pink. It goes with everything as although it’s a pink its more of a neutral shade. It’s an unexpected choice to pair with super bright tones as on first thought it sounds sickly sweet. However the neutral tone to it means it compliments bright products such as ours perfectly. With pink and green being such a huge trend this year finding the perfect shade for walls or accessories on the high street will be relatively easy in places such as H&M Home. Come winter, pair it with brass, marble, dark grey & black for a cosy and luxe look.
