By now you probably know that each month we shine the spotlight on a brand we think is awesome. Why? Because sometimes scouring the internet or shopping the same high street shops can be uninspiring. So this week, we’re showing off a practical homeware brand – Sleepy People. The name says it all really as these guys want to help you get the perfect night sleep. From bedding to pillows to duvets and mattress toppers, Sleepy People offer high quality items from Britains favourite brands (think Silentnight and Sealy) at affordable prices. So to find out more about how we can get a good night sleep and what products we require, we spoke to the team. If you missed the last one, we spoke to pint sized furniture brand ‘Urbansize’ and there’s a 15% off code on the post too – click here to view.
Why was Sleepy People started?
Sleepy People is a UK-based and family owned business that was founded in 2006. The company was set up on the principle of offering both top quality products and value for money, which we have achieved by sourcing the best branded products and offering them at surprisingly low prices. As a result, the company has gone from strength to strength, you can now buy everything from pillows, duvets, mattress toppers, nursery ranges and electric blankets online.
So while we’re here to offer quality and service rather than simply discounts, we think you’ll find our combination of brand names and competitive prices hard to beat when you want to buy your bedding online.

What is the brands ethos?
Our ethos is to be the go to place for a great night’s sleep. We all spend around a third of our lives in bed, and getting a good night’s sleep is essential for the health and wellbeing of just about everybody. Sleep doesn’t always come easily for everyone though, so it’s well worth taking the time to make your bed as cosy and comfortable as possible. That’s why, in addition to offering you a massive choice of high quality bedding online, we do our best to educate our customers on the many different types of duvets, pillows and mattresses you can choose from.

What would you say makes the perfect night sleep?
1. Get into a routine
Perhaps one of the easiest and simplest tips to implement; getting into a bedtime routine. We all have our morning routing for getting ready and going to work, so why don’t we all have a bedtime routing as well?
Setting a bedtime, and sticking to it, is vitally important for improving sleep quality. It allows you to set aside the recommended seven to eight hours a night for sleep, and helps regulate your body’s internal clock for optimised sleep quality.
2. Have a digital curfew
Studies show that staring at a smartphone, iPad, TV or computer screen 90 minutes before bed will disrupt your sleep. Looking at artificial blue light emitted by electronic screens suppresses your melatonin secretion and triggers your body to produce more daytime hormones like cortisol. Melatonin helps you get deep, anabolic sleep. You may be able to fall asleep soon after using your electronics, but it disorients your body’s natural preparation for sleep, which means you will wake up tired. So commit to switching off all electronics two hours before sleep!
What are your most popular products?
The Deep Sleep pillows by Silentnight have been created to help you sleep more deeply throughout the night. The pillows have been generously filled with hollowfibre which results in a soft, comfortable yet supportive pillow that is ideal for people who sleep on their back or side. Providing high comfort throughout the night, the Deep Sleep pillows surround your head with softness whilst keeping your neck and spine aligned.
The Sealy Select Response Duvet has a peach skin textured microfibre cover that actually responds to your body’s temperature. It feels warm on cold nights yet keeps you comfortable on milder nights by wicking away moisture. It also promises unsurpassed softness thanks to its DuPont Serica Fiberfill, which combines the feel of spun silk with the warmth of hollowfibre.
Do you cater towards people with allergies?
Yes! For those who suffer from dust allergies, asthma and more, the anti-allergy range by Silentnight is going to be your new best friend. The duvets are made with hollowfibre that protects against dust mites and bacteria, so with hay fever season coming up, it might be one to consider! Try these or these.
What makes Sleepy People stand out from other brands?
At Sleepy People we have a 5* gold service rating, a product guarantee for all products, free delivery to mainland UK, a wide brand selection and we’re also experts in sleep and have trusted advisors to help you find the perfect product.
