Oh Valentines day – you’re a funny one aren’t you! For many it represents a fun filled romantic evening with a loved one…yet for others it’s an unnecessary reminder that it’s an evening of Tinder again. Regardless, whether you’re loved up or a singleton, why not embrace Valentines this year? Whether you’re planning on having your other half over or just your best pal, screw going out and getting dressed up! Have an evening on the sofa with a massive glass of wine and a delicious home cooked meal. Sounds tempting? This is where Wayfair & Hello Fresh step in and make it that much better. They treated us to some delicious meals and tableware to help us show you that a night has never been so easy and fun…

So first things first – we ordered our bowls, glasses and side plates. We chose items from the DRH collection from Wayfair. We decided on the ‘Tao’ pasta bowls, as we loved the fact they go with any scheme. They’re neutral but have a bold pattern on them which makes them a bit more interesting. Click here to see the range of colours and here to see the matching side plates as well which we got.

Next on to the cooking! We chose to cook the ‘Massam Curry’ supplied by Hello Fresh. A peanut buttery, spicy, aubergine, green bean and mushroomy curry. Mmm. What we loved about this the most was the convenience. It arrives on your door step all portioned out with recipes and there’s no need to run out to the shops. We chose all vegetarian meals for the week due to ‘Veganuary’…and although options were delicious, the temptation of a meat dish was hard to resist.

The fact the recipes are so simple (honestly even someone who can’t boil the kettle could cook these!) and pre-portioned out really does make cooking dinner fun. Thanks to Hello Fresh, Valentines – or any other occassion really – can be stress free, delicious and cheaper than a dinner out.

‘All in all, it was a fun change of scene from the usual boring schlep to Morrisons accompanied by plain white IKEA plates’.
